Inspired by my father’s stories about Beale Air Force Base and the legendary SR-71 Mach 3+ aircraft, I chose to model the plane for my MODL 301 final project. A significant challenge in this project was modeling the unique shapes found on the aircraft, as I was new to modelling such complex shapes, and they had to be faithful to the real thing. Using detailed drawings, photographs, and physical models, I created a basic model of the SR-71 that looks great in wide shots and will perform well in video games.
